The Micro-Folie is a cultural initiative supported by the Ministry of Culture in partnership with La Villette and carried by the city of Port-Vendres; a new space highlighting arts and creativity.
The new program is dedicated to the birds of the garden, paying tribute to our discreet companions that we encounter daily in our beautiful garden and who are unfortunately so threatened today:
L’oiseau dans l’art
From prehistory to contemporary art, the bird has always been a source of artistic inspiration with multiple representations and symbolisms. Discover our selection of artworks at the digital museum. A fun and interactive visit with digital tablets. Available during opening hours without registration.
Le chant des oiseaux : une fresque en réalité augmentée
Discover the augmented reality fresco dedicated to the birds of the garden, ‘Birdie Memory’. A simple and fun method of birdwatching initiation for ages 5 and above. The ‘Birdie Memory’ application allows animated birds to be seen and their song to be heard to learn about them better. The League for the Protection of Birds (LPO), the first French association for bird conservation, is a partner of Birdie Memory. Available during opening hours without registration.
Ateliers et observation: les oiseaux du jardin
On Thursday, March 5th, and Saturday, March 7th, from 10 am to 11 am, excluding school holidays on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons by appointment. An workshop to discover different bird species through fun activities (coloring, bird cards, quizzes, etc.). At the end of the workshop, everyone is invited to the garden for a moment of observation and listening: robins, redstarts, wagtails, goldfinches. Will we be lucky enough to observe and listen to their sweet songs? For ages 5 and above, by reservation at 09 75 63 16 78.
Micro Archéo
On Wednesday, March 4th, and Friday, March 6th, at 3 pm. An object from underwater archaeological excavations to discover, followed by a small creative workshop. An opportunity for an exchange about underwater archaeology and its treasures. Led by Florence, a student specializing in underwater archaeology. For ages 7 and above – Free by appointment at 09 75 63 16 78.
Micro-Folie: the free digital museum for the whole family.
Three spaces to visit: the digital museum where you can admire masterpieces from major national and regional cultural institutions during an interactive and fun visit with digital tablets, the virtual reality space (from 8 years old) to experience a 360° immersion with VR headsets, and finally, the Fab lab, a space where you can participate in digital manufacturing workshops (3D printer and digital cutter).
Open all year round, Wednesday 2 pm-6 pm, Saturday 10 am-12 pm and 2 pm-6 pm. School holidays zone C: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 2 pm-6 pm, Saturday 10 am-12 pm and 2 pm-6 pm.
