One month after the start of the war in the Middle East, a new player enters the conflict. The Houthis from Yemen, allies of Iran, launched their first missile at Israel on Saturday, March 28, mentioning possible actions in the Red Sea, which would further complicate maritime transport.

For the first time since the start of the war, the Houthi rebels from Yemen, allied with Iran, attacked Israel. Hours earlier, the Israeli army announced intercepting a missile fired from Yemen. Supported by Tehran, the spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces confirmed the launch. “The Yemeni armed forces, with the help of God, carried out the first military operation using a barrage of ballistic missiles and targeted strategic Israeli military sites in the southern part of occupied Palestine,” said the movement’s spokesperson, Yahya Saree.

Meanwhile, Tehran attacked the United Arab Emirates, allies of the United States. In Abu Dhabi, one of the sites of the first aluminum production company in the Middle East was damaged. Images also show the region of Estha’ol in central Israel being targeted by Iranian missiles. In response, Israel struck Tehran today. Israel is also preparing to defend itself against the Yemeni Houthi rebels. “We are preparing for a war on multiple fronts, including against the rebels. We will defend Israeli civilians and, as I have already said, we act, we do not speak. Anyone who threatens Israeli civilians will be struck,” said the Israeli army spokesperson, Effie Defrin.

Turkish, Pakistani, Egyptian, and Saudi officials are set to meet tomorrow and Monday in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, for discussions aimed at ending the conflict.
