On Saturday, March 28, they were indeed hosting the 3rd team in the pool for a Samauritain derby that will be important in the fight for survival.
With five days left in this relegation pool, they will need to breathe and get out of the dangerous zone against an opponent within their reach.
The boys step up
On the boys’ side, the momentum is more positive. After their narrow but valuable 30-32 victory in the northern Ardèche derby against Tournon-Tain, they climbed one place in the overall standings of pool 3 to reach the 11th position. The Blues are regaining their form and seem to have found the path to success again.
But the upcoming schedule looks challenging. On Sunday, March 29, the Annonéens will host Saint-Chamond, currently 2nd in the pool, who narrowly beat them 29-25 in November on their home court. Fueled by their recent success, the locals know that “there is clearly a game to be played” against a top team in the league, and a chance for revenge in front of their own fans.
