On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the Municipal Sports Office (OMS) of Istres is organizing a new edition of the Handi’Move Day. Throughout the day, the sports complex “Le Podium” will be transformed into a vast experimentation ground where both able-bodied and disabled individuals are invited to push their limits together.
The highlight of the day lies in its diversity. With over 20 thematic workshops, visitors can experience various adapted disciplines, guided by professionals and enthusiasts.
Whether you are a seasoned athlete or just curious, the program offers a wide range of sensations in different categories such as:
– Collective sports: wheelchair basketball, wheelchair handball, blind football (Cécifoot), and handi-volley. – Precision and combat: archery, laser shooting, fencing, adapted judo, and boxing. – Outdoor and nautical activities: sailing, rowing on ergometers, traditional rowing, tandem mountain biking, and adapted climbing. – Well-being and leisure: seated gym, table tennis, tennis, equitherapy, and adapted boccia.
Aside from the practice, the Handi’Move Day serves as a platform for exchange. Various information and orientation stands will be set up in the complex to support people with disabilities and their families in their sports journey in Istres.
The OMS’s goal is clear: to demonstrate that disability is not a barrier to physical fulfillment and to promote special encounters among all citizens of the municipality.
