It’s been a long time since the old Renault factories left the premises and Seguin Island, in Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine), continues its metamorphosis. Among the many cultural facilities that have yet to open their doors, the next on the list is the large Pathé cinema. Its inauguration is announced for summer 2026.

A giant IMAX theater

Seguin Island, which will soon be served by line 15 of the Grand Paris Express, was chosen by the Pathé group to host its new establishment. Described as “premium”, the cinema will have eight rooms for more than 900 seats.

Special feature of the place: it will have a giant IMAX theater with 262 seats, equipped with black leather armchairs anda écran of 20 meters wide south 11.7 meters high. “The theater is a cinematic gem. She will be the first [salle IMAX] of western Paris,” underlines Samir Maafa, director of equipment, in a municipal communication.

“IMAX offers films all year round, so we will be able to offer a wide selection in this theater. In general, we will adapt to what the Boulonnais and the inhabitants of the department want,” promises the director.

Du pop-corn au spéculoos

The immense cinema will cover 5,500 m² and the company plans to recruit “around twenty employees” to ensure its operation.

A “Pathé Café” restaurant will be located there, as will a “pop-corner”, in other words a space dedicated to the sale of popcorn. A dozen varieties will be offered, “like barbecue, cheddar, chocolate truffle, cotton candy or even speculoos”, explains Samir Maafa.

To reach this future cinema, it will be possible to take bus line 42 or cross the Daydé bridge. Without forgetting line 15, whose arrival on Seguin Island should now not take long.
