Wellington International Takes Swift Action Following Investigation

This decision follows an independent investigation in response to a situation involving Mr. Kessler. As soon as the organization was informed of the matter, immediate action was taken to support the employee who reported it. According to company policies, measures were taken to ensure her safety and well-being. Within 24 hours of being notified of the incident, the company launched an independent investigation, demonstrating their commitment to a thorough and objective review. Any contrary information or suggestions are inaccurate. Today’s announcement highlights Wellington International’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of professional conduct. This matter continues to be handled with seriousness and accountability, in the best interest of our team, partners, and the community.

As the organization continues its activities, it does so with experienced leadership and a commitment to stability and excellence. Michael Stone, President of Wellington International, will assume executive oversight of operations. Stone has been leading Wellington International for over two decades. In this expanded role, he continues to oversee management of the main equestrian competition site in Wellington, Florida. He serves as a liaison to the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) and the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), enhancing the organization’s reputation for excellence among the sport’s governing bodies.

Under Stone’s leadership, Wellington International has become one of the premier equestrian sites in the world, hosting 40 weeks of competitions per year, including the Winter Equestrian Festival—a event that, in 2025, generated over $500 million in economic impact for Palm Beach County. Stone’s broader experience in the sector includes serving as the sport director for the FEI World Equestrian Games 2018 in Tryon, as well as over a decade of service at the FEI in Lausanne, where he held high-level positions including secretary-general and sport director. A former international show jumping rider for Ireland, he remains heavily involved in the sport through his work on USEF committees, the FEI show jumping committee, and as a board member of the International Jumping Organizers group.

“I am honored to continue leading our exceptional site and team,” said Stone. “I look forward to further strengthening our legacy alongside a top-notch team whose talent and dedication make Wellington International one of the premier equestrian sites in the world.”
