Marriott International announced this Thursday the opening of its 10,000th establishment, the JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort & Spa in India.

The giant hotelier Marriott International celebrated a major milestone in its history on June 11, 2026 with the inauguration of its 10,000th establishment worldwide. Located in India, the JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort & Spa becomes the symbol of the continued growth of the group, which is approaching its hundredth anniversary. The announcement was made from the company’s headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland.

Anthony Capuano, President and CEO of Marriott International, highlighted the significance of this accomplishment, recalling the company’s humble origins.

“99 years ago, Marriott started with a nine-seat root beer stand and has grown to a global portfolio of 10,000 properties in 146 countries and territories. I am extremely proud of this exceptional achievement, made possible by our teams around the world and the owners who continue to place their trust in the Marriott brands.”, at-il déclaré.

He also added that the choice of a JW Marriott property to mark this milestone was “particularly symbolic, this one paying tribute to our co-founder, J. Willard Marriott”.

A luxury setting in the heart of Indian nature

The opening of the JW Marriott Ranthambore was celebrated in the presence of group executives, including David Marriott, Chairman of the Board, and Rajeev Menon, President for the Asia-Pacific region excluding China, as well as the owner of the premises, Nilesh Gadhiya.

Located close to the famous Ranthambore National Park, the resort offers an immersive luxury experience. It has 127 accommodations, including private villas, rooms and suites. The gastronomic offer highlights contemporary Indian cuisine and regional specialties, complemented by a menu of botanical cocktails inspired by local products.

The luxury segment as a growth engine

This opening strengthens Marriott’s positioning in the luxury market. The group’s portfolio in this segment includes nearly 700 establishments spread across 74 countries and territories. The JW Marriott brand alone now exceeds 130 hotels worldwide, offering premium experiences in the most sought-after destinations.

Diversified expansion in all markets

Beyond this milestone, the group has recently increased strategic openings across its entire portfolio, from mid-range to luxury, to meet the varied expectations of travelers. Among the notable inaugurations of recent months, we note:

– The St. Regis Budapest : inaugurated in April, it marks the arrival of the luxury brand in Hungary, in the emblematic Klotild Palace.

– The Westin Playa Vallarta, An All-Inclusive Resort : Westin brand’s first all-inclusive resort in Mexico.

– Artik Suzhou, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy : this opening at the start of the year marked the brand’s debut in Greater China.

– StudioRes by Marriott Greensboro Airport : inaugurated in May in the United States, this establishment intended for extended stays was developed in one year thanks to modular construction.
