Mostly dry Father’s day before our next weather maker arrives on Monday, bringing the potential for strong to severe storms. A marginal 1/5 risk is in place for the entire Tennessee Valley.

Light showers still possible throughout the rest of the evening, but most will stay dry. Overnight lows will drop to the upper 60s.

We may escape most of Father’s Day on a dry note, although a few pop-up showers throughout the day can’t be ruled out. Rain chances increase by bedtime and will linger into the Monday morning commute. Highs will climb into the upper 80s.

Scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected for the morning commute on Monday. By around lunch time, a frontal boundary will dive to the south, bringing with it the threat for damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and lightning. The SPC has put the Tennessee Valley under a marginal 1/5 risk. It’ll push across the Tennessee Valley through early afternoon, and we’re left with a few scattered showers for afternoon and evening. Highs will sit in mid 80s.

Daily rain chances will stay in the forecast through the rest of the workweek, with below-average temperatures holding in the mid 80s.
