1 dead in wrong-way crash in Millbury, state police confirm

A Connecticut man is dead after a wrong-way crash on Route 146 in Millbury just after midnight on Saturday. According to the Massachusetts State Police, the vehicle was spotted traveling the wrong way on Route 146 at 12:55 a.m. after a “Be On the Look Out” (BOLO) was issued in Millbury. Officials said troopers tried to stop the vehicle with stop sticks, but it crashed head-on into another vehicle between the on- and off-ramps at exit 17. State police confirmed the Connecticut man died from his injuries. He was in his 20s, but his identity is not being released at this time. The driver of the other vehicle in the crash sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Traffic was redirected while investigators worked the scene. Lanes reopened at approximately 4:30 a.m.
