Guest of Europe 1 Matin Weekend, the spokesperson for the PCF, Léon Deffontaines, believes that the Music Festival must remain outside the political field. On Friday, administrative justice suspended the ban on the concert organized by La France insoumise in Paris.

He deplores politicization. The LFI concert for the Fête de la Musique will finally take place. On Friday, administrative justice reversed the cancellation of this event, banned by the police headquarters due to the risk of disturbing public order.

But beyond the legal drama surrounding the probability of these risks, Léon Deffontaines deplores at the microphone of Europe 1 Matin Week-end that politics is inviting itself onto the stage of the Music Festival.

“The Music Festival must remain a sanctuary”

“It’s still a moment of harmony, of brotherhood. It’s a moment a little disconnected from time. This is what culture allows, to recreate a national cohesion which I believe has been very undermined in recent years”, explains the spokesperson of the PCF, who adds: “It is not a political event, it should not be a political demonstration. For me, the Music Festival must remain a spare sanctuary.”
