Welcomed this June 17 by David Amiel, Minister of Action and Public Accounts, Ian Lafrenière and Henri-Paul Rousseau discovered several digital initiatives supported by French administrations, on the State’s digital stand at the Vivatech exhibition which is being held from June 17 to 20 at Porte de Versailles (Paris).

Among them, GenIAl.intradef particularly caught their attention. The discovery of the platform by the Quebec delegation is part of the continuity of the exchanges initiated between France and Canada for a renewed transatlantic partnership.

A sovereign platform developed within the Ministry of the Armed Forces

Designed and developed by the Delegation for Ministerial Transformation and Performance (DTPM) of the General Secretariat for Administration (SGA), GenIAl.intradef today constitutes the generative artificial intelligence platform of the Ministry of the Armed Forces and Veterans.

Its development responds to a strategic objective : allow ministry agents to rely on the capabilities of generative AI while guaranteeing data control, security of exchanges and the technological autonomy of the State.

Entirely hosted in the ministry’s digital environment, the platform is based on sovereign infrastructure and internal computing capabilities. This architecture makes it possible to offer artificial intelligence services adapted to the needs of Defense while avoiding the risks linked to the use of general public tools for the processing of professional information.

An innovation designed for user needs

GenIAl.intradef offers several services intended to support the daily activities of civilian and military personnel: editorial assistance, translation, documentary synthesis, audio transcription, document processing and even image generation.

Designed according to a continuous improvement approach, the platform evolves according to the needs expressed by agents. Its interoperability with existing information systems and its progressive integration with office tools help to facilitate its adoption without profoundly changing work habits.

This pragmatic approach is already bearing fruit. More than 114,000 users now have access to the platform. Every month, almost 35 000 agents actively use it and more than 26 million requests were processed since its commissioning. THE satisfaction rate reached 84%, while more than eight out of ten users consider that it constitutes concrete help in their daily missions.
