This increase in power is managed by the Air Cyber Office, which relies on a network of specialized units such as the Projectable Command and Control Air Wing (EAC2P) but also the Air Cyber Electronic Operation Center (COCEA) and the Information Systems Squadron operational and cyber defense (ESIOC). Their contributions are complementary: where the EAC2P ensures the projection of the information and communication surveillance systems necessary for operations, the COCEA operates on the cyber defense aspect (monitoring, detection of potential attacks) and the ESIOC defends the systems against cyberattacks, while developing embedded software. These units alone train nearly 40 new cybersecurity specialists each year. This intensive preparation allows future OCYBERs to master the technical tools essential to detect threats, counter attacks and effectively protect the army’s critical information systems.
Beyond technical expertise, the training includes an essential strategic component provided by the Defense Digital Commission (CND). By developing a solid mastery of the legal and ethical issues of cyberspace, OCYBERs acquire the ability to act in perfect compliance with international law. Thus the Air and Space Force is equipped with a complete cyber force, reactive and ready to meet the challenges of modern conflicts.
