Araghchi briefs National Security Commission on progress of negotiations with Washington

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with the chairman and members of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament to discuss the latest political and diplomatic developments related to the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States, as well as the regional and international situation.

During this meeting, which was held Tuesday evening at the headquarters of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Araghchi reviewed the main Iranian diplomatic initiatives since the start of the conflict. He gave a detailed account of the Iranian-US negotiations in Islamabad and the political efforts made to reach an agreement to end the war and establish stability, according to the official Iranian news agency.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also addressed the various proposals and ideas presented during the negotiating rounds, clarifying the position of the Islamic Republic on the issues raised and the positions of the parties concerned. He also presented the latest developments regarding the agreements currently being developed between the two parties. Mr. Araghchi stressed that the resilience of the Iranian people and the performance of the armed forces over the past period have been a source of strength that has strengthened Iran’s position and its ability to defend its national interests. He praised the sacrifices made to face the aggression.

For their part, members of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee congratulated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its management of political and diplomatic affairs during the current period, reaffirming their unwavering support for the path which preserves Iran’s national interests and strengthens the presence of the Islamic Republic on the international scene.
