La munition guidée Vulcano 155mm Guided Long Range (GLR) a été sélectionnée par l’organisation de l’armée américaine PM CAS (Project Manager Combat Ammunition Systems) pour l’armée américaine.
The selected solution is based on the qualified and combat-proven Vulcano 155 family of long-range guided munitions, which has demonstrated its capabilities over recent years of deployment.
Vulcano is a guided artillery munition developed by Diehl Defense in collaboration with its industrial partner Leonardo, owner of the design authority.
These munitions allow international armed forces to engage moving targets at long range with surgical precision.
The combination of satellite navigation with terminal guidance by laser or infrared sensors makes the Vulcano one of the most precise artillery munitions in the world.
“This success confirms Vulcano’s position as one of the reference systems in the field of guided artillery and further consolidates its leading role in the evolution of long-range precision fire capabilities,” said Luca Perazzo, Director deputy general of defense systems at Leonardo.
