SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – It's tee time for a great cause at Notre Dame!
Former Irish basketball legend LaPhonso Ellis hit the fairway at Warren Golf Course Tuesday and headlined the annual Five Star Life golf outing.
The event raises money to help the group reach thousands of students each year teaching leadership, character, and life skills on and off the field.
“It's kids understanding why education is important to them because they want to have successful lives it allows the kids to have more of a hands on approach to their education and when you have a hands on approach and you can feel it see it touch it now all of a sudden you have engagement and that's what's been so impactful in five star life,†said Seth Maust, president and co-founder of Five Star Life.
Organizers said support from the outing means more kids can tap into their potential and build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
