Building on last year’s success, La Garouste is offering Trie’Pop Culture: 2 days of concerts and activities on June 20 and 21.

The festivities will start in Castelnau-Magnoac at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, with musical tales at the media library, followed by a concert by Espelidas at the halls at 11:30 a.m., singers who bring the polyphonic tradition of the Pyrenees to life.

The program will continue in Trie from 6 p.m. on Saturday evening, with an AdiJazz concert on the large stage under the town hall, lively traditional jazz and swing, all performed in Gascon.

At 8 p.m., there will be a concert by Hannah & the Bandits, the pop-rock group from Libaros which plays the biggest global hits, Anglo or French, a concentrate of festive rock.

At 10:30 p.m., Electro Kora will take over on the big stage with their cocktail of Afrobeat mixed with a little blues, groove and funk: a mixed style that they call “an Afro-Mandingo fusion and Western music”. Dancing rhythms which should seduce the public.

But Saturday evening doesn’t stop there. For those who like techno and drums’n’bass rhythms, there will be DJ Set from midnight.

On Sunday morning, for the Music Festival on June 21, the Trie Philharmonic Society will offer a concert under the town hall at 10 a.m. during the market, whose stands will be moved to the other side of the town hall and in the parking lot.

After the Philharmonic, La Garouste will offer a large open stage. In the true spirit of the Fête de la Musique, it will be an opportunity for local musicians and singers to present some pieces on the big stage. Among the confirmed performances, there will be the primary school students around director Patrick Laclergue, the Com Avans group from Sadournin, Lo Ripipiu, a troop of Landes bagpipes from neighboring Gers, and the meeting of the Baères Baïse who will sing their hit from the 1990s, “Born on the Base”. The program will give pride of place to a variety of styles and will have a few surprises in store. A few slots remain available for singers and musicians who wish to perform one or more pieces on stage: you can register at lagarouste65@gmail.com.

All weekend, there will be catering, food trucks and a refreshment bar. The La Garouste microlibrary will also be on site on Sunday morning. A resolutely local musical event which should attract many visitors.
