What assessment do you draw from these seven years of existence of Casell’arte?
Creating a cultural place in a rural environment, particularly in Central Corsica, takes time. Today, we see that we have succeeded in retaining an audience, whether it is our members, schoolchildren or people who regularly participate in our events. The more workshops or cultural activities we offer, the more receptive residents are. For me, the main outcome is there: in the relationship built with the public over the years and the link with the villages. I set aside the writing residencies because they have an international resonance and are only open to the public during masterclasses with the authors.
However, writing residencies occupy an important place in your project…
Yes, and today they have a visibility that goes far beyond the territory. We welcome authors who sometimes come from very far away and who discover the Corsican Center on this occasion. It’s important, because it allows us to make our territory known while promoting exchanges with Corsican authors who we also welcome.
An asset for creativity
