Through their representatives, the couple questioned the circumstances surrounding this visit. “The fact that photographers were present when the letter was hand-delivered says it all: it was all staged for the cameras,” they told the Daily Mail. Furthermore, several media have indicated that Brooklyn Beckham was not even in California at the time of the events. Harper was then in Los Angeles with her brothers Romeo and Cruz to attend the ceremony marking the inauguration of their father’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

According to a source close to the couple, the parents are having difficulty coping with this new controversy which directly involves their youngest child. They believe that Harper unfairly finds herself at the center of a conflict that is beyond her control. According to those close to her, the teenager suffers especially from the distance from her older brother. The Beckhams therefore refute any desire for manipulation or staging. On the contrary, they consider that their daughter’s approach was sincere and motivated by her desire to reconnect with Brooklyn despite persistent tensions. The same source denounced particularly hurtful accusations against the young girl. “It is incredibly sad that this horrific accusation has been brought against an innocent young girl who is suffering terribly from the absence of her brother,” she said. She also added: “There was absolutely nothing to say, so making up this heinous accusation is really pointless.” At the same time, those close to the family assured that Brooklyn Beckham would have cut ties with several members of his family entourage. According to them, he refused in particular any contact with his sister Harper as well as with his grandparents since the start of this argument.
