Donald Trump and Iranian officials announced on Sunday evening that they had reached a framework agreement to end the war, lift the US blockade of Iran and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a preliminary pact which leaves the fate of the Iranian nuclear program to subsequent negotiations. The memorandum of understanding is expected to be officially signed this Friday in Switzerland.
The agreement was concluded despite the Israeli strike carried out on Sunday in Lebanon, which sparked criticism from Iran and Donald Trump.
