The Toulouse Game Show (TGS) Springbreak opened its doors this Saturday June 13, 2026 at the Diagora conference center in Labège. The event brings together thousands of fans of pop and geek culture in all its forms: video games, manga, comics, comic strips, science fiction, cinema, television series and Japanese culture. Along the aisles, visitors come across enthusiasts adorned with their most beautiful creations.

“We make our own costumes”

This is particularly the case of Jade, a 22-year-old young woman from Grisolles, who wears a magnificent red Lolita-style dress. Under her bonnet, she reveals a superb, entirely handmade blonde wig with curls. “I’m going to participate in the cosplay competition,” she announces excitedly.

She is surrounded by two valiant warriors, including Pierre, dressed as Mastoc, the famous dragon from the animated film Dragons. At his side, Nathan wears a Viking warrior outfit. Both are active members of the “Occitanie Cosplay” association. “We make our own costumes as well as our sets, and we run workshops to share our passion,” explains Pierre, a horned helmet firmly screwed onto his skull.

“I embody the god of wind”

Further on, in a completely different style, Mattéo impresses in the purple clothes of Durin, a character from Genshin Impact, completed by a purple wig, small wings and a dragon tail. He walks in the company of Bastien, who plays the magician of Mushoku Tensei.

Wearing two blue pigtails and a beret, Okz brings up the rear in the Venti costume, also from the video game Genshin Impact. “I embody the god of the wind,” explains the young Marseillaise who came especially for the occasion.

“Release the cosplays that we prepare throughout the year”

With her face powdered white, a matching hairstyle, two small tears stuck to the top of her cheeks and dressed in a blood red dress, Alice plays Gangle from the series The Amazing Digital Circus. She is accompanied by Killian, who wears Link’s famous cape in the game Tears of the Kingdom. Arriving as neighbors from Castanet-Tolosan, they savor the moment: “We are regulars at the show, we love this unique atmosphere,” slips Killian. “It’s the perfect opportunity to release the cosplays that we prepare throughout the year,” adds Alice.

On the Diagora floor, Elwen does not go unnoticed: she wears an old cathode ray television hollowed out on her head as well as a starry night blue cape. “It’s an original character that I created from scratch, his name is Nova,” explains the Bordelaise, who is participating in the TGS for the very first time. “The welcome is really very pleasant,” she adds.

A mini-Spider-Man in the stroller

Regulars at the event, Naya (playing a very personalized version of Harley Quinn from the Batman universe, all in red and black), armed with her giant mallet, and Cédric (under the mask of Deadpool, the Marvel anti-hero) do not shy away from their pleasure. “Cosplay is our whole life. We wouldn’t miss an event like this for anything in the world,” says Naya, a veterinary student.

A little further on, Jennifer strolls through the aisles pushing a stroller where a mini-Spider-Man is installed. “My son, Tyler, aged 4 and a half, is a huge fan. We try to get into it as a family to follow his pace,” explains the mother, dressed in a panther-print dress. “We’re going to spend the whole day here,” she adds with a smile.

Finally, Gersoise Céliane stands out in her police costume representing Harry Du Bois. “It comes from the video game Disco Elysium,” she explains. With her green jacket, her yellow gloves, her imposing sideburns and her chapka on her head, she admits with a laugh: “I’m really very hot!”
