The American Cosmograph celebrates its tenth anniversary

On Tuesday June 16, from 6 p.m., the American Cosmograph invites Toulouse film fans to celebrate its first decade of existence. Freed from the flow of automobiles for the occasion, rue Montardy opens to pedestrians for a moment of sharing and music before the screenings.

Ten years, it’s worth celebrating! The event will kick off with an aperitif offered by the caterer Greed box. At 6:45 p.m., the five musicians from Bees Knees Breakfast will take over to liven up the evening. Originally from the border between Ariège and Haute-Garonne, this group revisits a repertoire with bluegrass sounds, a derivative of country music.

Three hand-picked films

From 8 p.m., time for previews. For fans of mature animated cinema, now is the time to discover Jim Queen (Bobbypills studios), a UFO screened in Midnight Screenings in Cannes. Change register with Suddenlysigned Ryûsuke Hamaguchi. Headlining this European-Japanese drama, Virginie Efira literally captivated the Croisette jury, leaving the festival with a double prize for female performance under her arm. As a highlight, At the Last Session, by Indian director Pan Nalin, will close this “mardi au cinoche”. Nominated in the category of Best International Film at the Oscars, this oriental counterpart of Cinema Paradiso is a superb declaration of affection for the seventh art.
