We could also read these few words full of emotion: “With my tenderness, Line Renaud”, wrote the one who was particularly close to Claude Chirac, whom she considered as her spiritual daughter.

Interviewed on this subject by Laurent Delahousse on France 3 in Archives secrètes, several years ago, Claude Chirac confirmed the link which united him to Line Renaud : “As if, in another life, she had really been my mother.” “I had intuitively, humanly, a kind of confidence [en elle]”, she added before continuing in these terms: “I felt very comfortable with her, which was quite rare for me by nature. As if I had always known her. In fact, it’s love between us“. A friendship which had, at the beginning, made Bernadette Chirac “jealous†if we are to believe her daughter’s words.
