But in rediscovering these images today, one thought continues to haunt her. “The day before, the day after or the day of this concert, perhaps this man who is in front of me backstage, perhaps he attacked a woman not far away, very close by, and this woman was not protected as I was lucky enough to be“, she continues. This speech comes the day after the indictment of Patrick Bruel. The singer was indicted on June 10 after 48 hours in police custody for rape, attempted rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment in several separate cases. He contests all the facts with which he is accused and remains presumed innocent.

Beyond her own feelings, Lisa Blum also explains why she thinks she escaped certain situations. In his message, she believes she benefited from a form of protection linked to her position in the musical world at the time. “Today I tell myself that if I was lucky enough not to be one of his victims, it was only because I was signed to the same label as him, and therefore ‘protected’ in a way.“she writes. A reflection which leads her to denounce what she considers to be a form of inequality in the face of sexual violence. “When I think about this I feel sick, the attackers choose their prey, depending on where they are in society, this pyramid injustice is absolutely unbearable“she continues. The singer finally concludes her message by sending strong support to the women who have testified or who plan to do so. “Ladies, I beg you, continue to speak, to say, to denounce, continue to tell, we need it“she says. A strong statement which adds to the numerous reactions provoked since the indictment of Patrick Bruel, who continues to contest the accusations brought against him.
