After four years at the head of the Les Républicains des Vosges party, Jean-Jacques Gaultier decided to step back from his functions for personal reasons. In the absence of a “buyer”, the federation turned to… François Vannson. The man who had held this position for around twenty years at the start of the 2000s agreed to return to service at the request of the national president, Bruno Retailleau.
The only candidate, the president of the departmental council, was therefore unsurprisingly elected by the activists with 80 votes in favor and five blank votes. And this, despite a meager participation of 37.12%.
With less than a year to go before the presidential election, he will be keen to seek out new activists and allow a debate of ideas: “I am very attached to democracy and I can only resolve the debate for presidency takes place between Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Jordan Bardella,” he explains.
For this, the leader of the Vosges right intends to “reaffirm the Gaullist fiber of the party, adapted to our times. Faced with the rise of communitarianism, we must defend certain values” in social, economic and European matters…
