The magnificent historical and dramatic biopic will be back on French screens starting from April 29, set at the beginning of the 18th century in Venice, and certainly will be La Dolce Vita. Jocelyne Perroy, a member of the association’s cinema squad, praises the film for its lighting and directing quality, saying “there is an atmosphere reminiscent of Dutch painting with superb chiaroscuro,” while highlighting the topic addressed: “unrecognized young girls by their mother, the violence of a denied maternity.” She also emphasizes the essential role of music, “serving the screen.”
Bouche-à-oreille
As every year, the festival was a great success with more than 1,700 spectators. Among them, Stephanie, a loyal fan of La Dolce Vita, appreciates the diversity of films offered. She watched ten films in this edition and particularly remembers “Berlinguer, la grande ambizione,” which traces the journey of this humanist, politician, and leader of the Italian Communist Party in the 1970s, defying Moscow and dreaming of a new democracy.
For Antonietta Roustit, the association’s president, this success is also based on “the importance of word-of-mouth thanks to the members and regulars of the festival.” She highlights the effectiveness of the Cinema Squad, which has implemented its selection from forty films since June 2025. She finally believes that this festival fully fits into the range of activities offered by the association: Italian courses, trips, cooking workshops, conferences…
The films “La Vita va cosí” and “Francesca e Giovanni” obtained the second and third places of the audience award. “Napoli New York” received the Ambassadors’ Award (youth).
