Thirty-five members of the Caminaières club went to Saint-Rome-de-Tarn, where twenty-three walkers took the Pins circuit. This winding route offers a view of the Millau viaduct and passes under the village of Auriac, whose remains of ramparts and two towers bear witness to local history.

The descent towards Saint-Rome, via a steep path, allowed us to admire Castelnau-Pégayrols and Montjaux before meeting up, at midday, with twelve other participants remaining in the village. Sylvie Bertrand, a passionate resident, then guided the group to discover the historical heritage and anecdotes of the town, from its church to the flowery streets, including the mill, the waterfall and the vine and mining museum. She also recalled the growth of local crops, from almond trees and vines to saffron. After a meal on the banks of the Tarn at the restaurant Le Héron des Raspes, the participants embarked on a guided cruise to the Pinet dam, a protected area which is home to numerous herons.

On the way back, the Caminaïres were able to admire the Baumes waterfall, an 18 meter waterfall flowing into the Tarn.
