On the eve of the match between the Blues and Northern Ireland, Adrien Rabiot showed up at a press conference, a few minutes before his coach. To journalists, he mentioned the status of this French team in the world hierarchy.  From what I see, starting from the players, the atmosphere that reigns around the group, there is a lot of humility. We don’t see ourselves looking too good. Outside, we hear a lot of things. People are very enthusiastic. We try not to fall into that. We know how difficult it is to win a World Cup. The coach is there to remind us to be ambitious but with humility. The match against Ivory Coast wasn’t the best way to get into it, but it wasn’t decisive… slipped the midfielder.
Before defending his teammate Rayan Cherkiwho had declared that he wanted  crush everyone »Âat the World Cup.  I didn’t find it out of place, I didn’t really understand the controversy. I am the first to say or do things that sometimes go against what people might think. It’s a rather ambitious speech, which may have been misinterpreted. I don’t think he lacked humility, not at all. That’s not Rayan’s type. But he is a very ambitious player, who wants to do well. He expresses himself in this way. Afterwards, he perhaps didn’t use the right words. I don’t think that’s the case, I rather understood it in a very positive way. So I really don’t understand the controversy. We must rather highlight the ambitious side of Rayan and his desire to give everything, rather than the negative side…a tempéré Rabiot.
En mode grand frère.
