Ciné Récupthey are above all cinema enthusiasts, with an ecological conscience. The industry being very polluting, Camille Amilhat and her associates are striving to find solutions to overcome this problem. The actress, stage manager and production assistant on filming then had the good idea of creating a resource center, allowing her to recover numerous set elements and accessories from films and series filmed in Hérault. It’s in his father’s old warehouses, nestled in the industrial zone of Gigeanwho actively helped him in his projects, that Camille Amilhat was able to collect objects from the Count of Montecristo, Love phew, Tandem or even Such a big sun.
The goal is simple: give another use to everything that is thrown away. To do this, the members of Ciné Récup list everything they have collected. In this way, it becomes easy for a production to directly rent the coveted element and return it once its role is completed. In addition to rental, it is possible to purchase certain items available on their site, whether you are a professional or an individual.
A shock duo
In its space of more than 3,000 square meters spread over two levels, Ciné Récup not only has fun collecting remnants of filming, construction and creation of sets are also part of their activities. The association evolves and becomes a place of production. A 400 square meter filming space is available to record music videos, advertisements and other partnerships with companies, all using what is already available, stored in their warehouse, using inventiveness to give a second wind to the accessories and sets.
Camille Amilhat and her associate Caroline, in belle-sÅ“urform an effective duo. The first, very creative and always with a head full of ideas, the second, after working 25 years in digital, joined the adventure by bringing a different experience. She optimizes the functioning of the resource center as best as possible, manages the website, and takes care of the administration. “It helps me a lot and saves us a lot of time.”rejoices Camille Amilhat. They are accompanied by Morgane and Norbertcapable of ensuring communication and the creation of settings.
Training for students
The two women are united by family ties but also by this passion for the big screen, which led to the launch of Cinema Meeting. Another project, more ambitious and above all open to sharing with professionals and the public with workshops and training around cinema professions. An idea that the former manager had while observing the students: “Many students were making short films and were in need of training on sets with an eco-production aspect.”she explains to Métropolitain. “We already have two or three casting preparation courses, with the aim of making it very accessible to students and professionals.â€she adds.
The association does not intend to stop there and plans the possibility of creating workshops intended for individuals. The Ciné© Récup team wants to use its expertise to introduce the public to customization and teach him how to give objects a second life. The resource center plans to develop their upcycling activities (revalorization of decor), as well as to continue to work in concert with similar structures and associations in the region.
A greener industry
Camille Amilhat nevertheless notes that the French film industry is making efforts and encouraging it to make its productions more ecological. “Economically it is cheaper to recycle certain decorations, even if you lose time in preparation. But films have been made in this direction »she confides. Other elements point in this direction, such as the Ecoprod prize awarded during the Cannes festivalthe creation of eco-production coordinator positions on film sets.
Ciné Récup sees life in the green and intends to play its role, on its own scale, in the cinema industry.
