At the head of Ireland since 2019, Andy Farrell has extended his contract linking him to the XV of Clover until 2031. He will go, at least, until the American World Cup which will be held in five years.
The news broke this Friday. Ireland coach since 2019, Andy Farrell has extended his contract with the Clover XV until 2031. While the possibility of a departure after the next World Cup had been mentioned in recent months, Owen’s father finally restacked. As a result, he should, at least, go to the World Cup which will be held in the United States in five years.
The main person concerned spoke after this new signing: “I am extremely proud to continue this adventure with Irish rugby. It is a privilege to work with such a talented group of players and management. What I am most excited about is the growing strengthening and investment in the training pipelines and the quality of young talent that is emerging. There is a real confidence in the system put in place at the provincial level and in the programs for young people, and I am convinced that with sustained efforts, the best is to come.”
Two Tournaments won
In 2019, Andy Farrell replaced Joe Shcmidt at the helm of Ireland. Since then, the former Saracens coach has won two Six Nations Tournaments with the men in green, including a grand slam in 2023. He was also the manager of the British Lions last year during the tour to Australia.
