K-pop, cubism and high heels. Jennie, the planetary star of the girl band BlackPink, stole the show from Picasso, in front of the immaculate white walls of the Center Pompidou Hanwha in Seoul, on the eve of its opening to the public, this June 4. Chanel took over for one evening the space designed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, at the foot of the iconic 63 Building which dominates the sprawling capital of South Korea.
On four floors and more than 3,000 square meters, this new international branch of the Parisian institution surrounds this skyscraper, long the tallest in the country, planted in the heart of Yeoido Island, a gleaming financial district, on the banks of the immense Han River. Like an architectural mirror in Asia emerged from “Beaubourg”, which had made its mark in the heart of centuries-old Paris, leaving a lasting impression.
