On June 4, 2026, in Phnom Penh, the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) approved a $100 million commitment to Techo International Airport to support the development of Cambodia’s aviation infrastructure.
This agreement comes after more than two years of in-depth verifications relating to the feasibility of the project, its technical and operational aspects as well as its environmental and social impacts (ESIA). The transaction, however, remains subject to certain steps before its finalization, including notification to the United States Congress.
Recognition for OCIC and its partners
This financial support is seen as a signal of confidence in Techo International Airport and as recognition of the work carried out by Overseas Cambodian Investment Corporation (OCIC), a subsidiary of the Canadia group and a major player in infrastructure development in the Kingdom.
This progress is part of a dynamic of cooperation initiated for several years with American institutions, such as the United States Embassy in Cambodia and the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (AmCham), as well as several American companies, including General Electric, OTIS, Caterpillar, Ford and Apple. These collaborations result in economic missions, conferences and regular exchanges dedicated to the development of the country’s infrastructure and connectivity.
A structuring project for Cambodia’s connectivity
Lok Neak Oknha Dr. Pung Kheav Se, Chairman and Founder of Canadia Group and OCIC, welcomed this cooperation: “We are delighted to welcome DFC as a partner of Techo International Airport. It is a joint commitment with Cambodia and the United States to develop infrastructure that supports growth and strengthens our connectivity with the region and the world. HAS”
For its part, the DFC underlines the expected impact of this investment: “This investment will support the development of Cambodia’s aviation infrastructure and create new economic opportunities for trade, growth and development. It illustrates the role of the DFC as a partner capable of mobilizing capital, expertise and innovation to serve one of Cambodia’s most important infrastructure assets. HAS”
