Conflicts is organizing an unprecedented study trip to China, reserved for business leaders and senior executives, from September 19 to 26, 2026.
-
Six days in Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Shanghai to meet face-to-face with the major players in the new Chinese economy: Huawei, BYD, DJI, ByteDance, DeepSeek, Unitree…
-
A deliberately restricted format, combining privileged access to industrial terrain and permanent geopolitical deciphering by the editorial staff.
People comment on China everywhere. We rarely understand it from the inside. In twenty-five years, the country has gone from being the world’s workshop to that of a laboratory for industrial innovation: electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, robotics, semiconductors, drones, biotechnologies. In each of these areas, Chinese companies now occupy world leadership. For the Western leader, grasping this change is no longer an intellectual curiosity: it has become a strategic necessity.
This is why Conflicts has designed a study trip of a new kind, halfway between an economic mission and an expedition of understanding. Not a tourist trip embellished with a few visits, but a professional immersion behind the scenes of Chinese industrial power, framed by a geopolitical analysis of each moment.
Three cities, the backbone of industrial China
The route follows the logic of the Chinese value chain.
À Shenzhen firstly, the world capital of hardware at the gates of Hong Kong, where semiconductors, electric vehicles, civil drones and collaborative robots are designed – with meetings planned at Huawei, BYD, DJI and Dobot.
À Hangzhou then, cradle of Alibaba and beating heart of artificial intelligence and robotics, where DeepSeek, Unitree and BrainCo operate.
À Shanghai finally, the country’s financial and technological showcase, from the power of Lujiazui to the laboratories of Zhangjiang Science City, including the ByteDance R&D center.
What this stay offers, and which cannot be found anywhere else, can be summed up in a few words: face-to-face meetings with the senior executives of Chinese champions, visits to industrial sites and research centers closed to the public, and a restricted circle of participants conducive to very high-level networking.
See, understand, anticipate
The strength of this trip lies in its double framework.
On the ground, the organization is ensured by Alex Wang, a senior executive who has led industrial stays in China since 2000 and whose network opens the doors to companies and contacts who are usually inaccessible.
On the analysis side, Jean-Baptiste Noé, editor-in-chief of Conflicts and doctor in economic history, ensures throughout the stay the perspective of the visits and the strategic deciphering of the issues observed.
Because the object is not only to visit, but to leave with an operational understanding: to grasp the driving forces of Chinese innovation through direct observation, to broaden one’s international network, and to have on return elements of analysis and foresight to which the competition will not have access.
A restricted circle
The stay is aimed at presidents and executive directors, industrial and purchasing directors, R&D and innovation managers, investors and investment bankers, as well as senior executives in charge of strategy and international development. It is deliberately limited to a restricted group, in order to preserve the quality of exchanges and access to leading contacts.
The departure will take place from Paris on September 19-20, for a return on September 26, 2026. The price of the stay is €3,100 per person, including accommodation, organization of meetings and professional visits, accompanied visits, a French-speaking guide, meals, transport in the city and insurance.
International plane tickets and domestic transportation within China remain the responsibility of the participant. Invoices can be issued to businesses upon request.
Registrations are open until the maximum number of participants is reached. To join the expedition or receive the detailed program, simply write to revue.conflits@protonmail.com.
