The former Chelsea midfielder, who played for eight years in China, was even in a state of clinical death for more than two minutes before being resuscitated.
“I’ve always heard that when you’re about to die, you see yourself. I didn’t see myself, but I had a very beautiful dream, where everything was wonderful,” Oscar told the Times, declaring that he had been “brought back” to life by the voice of his son Caio. “I just remember hearing my son say, ‘Dad, you have to come back. Dad, you have to come back,'” he added.
After this incident which almost cost him his life, Oscar underwent an ablation procedure, but he suffered from vasovagal syncope, a disease which affects his heart rate as well as his blood pressure. If he leads “a normal life”, he can no longer lead a footballer’s life. Reason why he was forced to hang up his crampons for good.
