Focus on a high-class roots evening at the Aeronef de Lille on July 1st: Julian Marley takes over the Lille venue in the company of two Jamaican legends, Culture feat. Kenyatta Hill et The Congos.

One of Bob Marley’s youngest sons, Julian Marleyhas established himself over the years as one of the representatives of his father’s heritage, with a roots sound and a very marked Rastafari spirituality. This is the album Colours of Royal which earned him the Grammy for best reggae album in 2024 – a well-deserved accolade for an artist who has never deviated from his trajectory.

À ses côtés, Culture feat. Kenyatta Hill perpetuates the legacy of Joseph Hill, founder of the group in Kingston in the early 1970s and author of indelible classics. His son Kenyatta holds the torch with this same energy, between roots tradition and contemporary influences.

As for the Congostheir presence alone is enough to legitimize the evening: the mythical Heart of the Congosrecorded at Lee “Scratch” Perry’s Black Ark, remains one of the cornerstones of roots reggae.

A three-star plateau to open the summer in style.
