A public figure for many years, Arthur is regularly confronted with criticism. But after the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, his situation took on a whole new dimension. A situation as unexpected as it was embarrassing for the host, who found himself alone in front of tens of thousands of spectators. “So by the time we got the dress out of the trapdoor, there was a mess, I had to furnish in front of 50,000 people for the longest three minutes of my life”he remembered. Arthur then wanted to salute the career of the interpreter of Désenchantée. “She was the one in France who brought the real first films, the real first clips to match her songs, so I have a lot of admiration”he explained, going so far as to establish a parallel between the singer and Michael Jackson.
Arthur: why does he consider his wife, Mareva Galenter, as a “heroine”?
If this anecdote makes him smile today, Arthur has recently gone through a much more trying period. After supervising a documentary devoted to the October 7 attacks, the host fell into depression. During this ordeal, he was able to count on the unfailing support of his wife, Mareva Galanter.
“She held the whole family at arm’s length for two and a half years”he declared with emotion in the columns of Parisian. A few days later, he renewed his tribute in an interview given to Gala : “If there’s a heroine in all of this, it’s my wife.” A declaration full of tenderness to the one who has shared his life for many years and with whom he had a daughter, Manava, born in 2015.
