“It doesn’t even make me want to try anymore”, “the experience disgusted me”: these Celine Dion fans discouraged before the new ticket sales

The addition of ten new dates in 2027 should have made them happy but for some Céline Dion fans, the excitement has already given way to weariness. Scalded by endless virtual queues and ticketing bugs, fans of the Quebec star tell BFM that they have already given up trying their luck, preferring to spare themselves another disappointment.

“I did everything I could last time, but now I’m tired of it.” Bélinda, 35, has been a fan of Céline Dion for many years. Last April, this woman registered for AXS and Ticketmaster presales in the hope of seeing her favorite artist in concert in the fall of 2026, simultaneously with several close friends. But to her greatest regret, neither she nor her friends were selected to access the ticket office for the ten new concert dates planned for 2027.

“Céline Dion is the second mother of French-speaking children, I have listened to her since I was little because my mother listened to her a lot so I wanted to see her at least once but fate was unfavorable to me: it’s been twice in a row that we don’t receive any link”, regrets this assistant to executives in the hospital civil service.

This time again, a draw is necessary to access the pre-sales of these 10 new dates at La Défense Arena in Paris scheduled for 2027. The artist sale is launched on Wednesday June 3 at 10 a.m., and the venue sale will begin on Thursday June 4 at 10 a.m. They will end on Friday June 5 at 11:59 p.m. However, only fans registered in the first phase could apply for this new draw, with no guarantee of obtaining access to pre-sales.

“I don’t even want to go see her anymore”

A real obstacle course that tires and discourages some fans in advance. “It’s become impossible to go see concerts today,” says Bélinda. “I understand the high demand but the sales experience disgusts me so much that I don’t even want to go see it anymore, it pissed me off.”

“The same people were drawn for the two sales the first time and the system supposed to favor the fans did not prevent the resellers from accessing the sales so well, we lose a bit of the pleasure of going to concerts as it has become difficult to have access to the sales”, develops the thirty-year-old.

And for good reason, the 480,000 tickets sold in April were not all sold to admirers. As is often the case, some opportunists buy tickets en masse to resell them at a higher price on the black market and make money. “It pays for my vacation,” one of its slapper dealers confided to BFM, which was counting on 10,000 euros in profits thanks to waves of automated emails sent by bots.

“The customer experience is just horrible, it has cooled us down a bit,” continues Bélinda, exasperated by the complexity of the procedures to obtain seats, all while “the influencers have free seats in boxes reserved by brands”. “If by some miracle we finally manage to get some in one way or another, so much the better, but if not too bad, we won’t try anymore. At worst we’ll see as the dates approach if an official resale is put in place.”

And Bélinda is far from being the only one to be so disillusioned. This week, out of the question for Anna, a 38-year-old executive assistant, to “waste time in the endless queues” of sites like Ticketmaster, AXS or even La Défense Arena. “It’s really boring. I’m sure seeing her in concert would be incredible but she’s not the first to make a comeback and yet the other sales don’t generate as much frustration.”

“I have seen many concerts in my life, including great artists, and I have never experienced a sale like this,” criticizes this resident of the Paris region. “With the bots taking up places it becomes really complicated for the average sgens like us. In the end we have more chances, and I find that it spoils the experience”.

“I am less enthusiastic, and 2027 is still far away”

After not obtaining any place despite his efforts two months ago, Lorenzo was not selected for these new pre-sales either. On Wednesday, this 36-year-old sports coach plans to try his luck again thanks to the code received by one of his friends. “Céline Dion is truly an icon, an incredible voice, I was lulled by her songs from a very young age. That’s why I really hoped to see her in concert,” he confides.

But the disappointments are piling up for this fan who had already obtained tickets for the previous concerts in 2018 that were ultimately canceled. “I’m going to try again, but honestly, for the first pre-sales I was ready to spend 250 euros per place. Since then I’ve reasoned with myself, I’m going to try to get much cheaper places. I’m less enthusiastic, and 2027 is still a long way off”, he confides.

“Today my maximum would be around 120-130 euros”.

Furthermore, Le Parisien believes that the exceptional enthusiasm of the month of April can also be explained by an announcement effect and a very well orchestrated communication stunt. The element of surprise has since faded somewhat. “I talked about it with several people and people are much less enthusiastic. I think that in April people threw themselves into the squares because everyone was only talking about that. It was really crazy at the time with the announcement on TV, the posters in the street, the unexpected return etc., but some people moved on a bit and moved on and were disgusted by the exorbitant prices.

“Not everyone has a chance”

Even weariness on the side of Yoann M., from whom no one in his entourage has once again received a preselection email. “Neither me nor my boyfriend nor my best friend,” he says, describing an emotional elevator. “Yesterday it was the joy of discovering new dates, we said to ourselves that perhaps we finally had our chance, but we immediately went back down when we saw that we still hadn’t beaten the draw.”

“It doesn’t even make me want to try to fight anymore, especially since this time without selection we can’t access any sales,” recalls the young man. “It’s funny for 5 minutes but hey, I don’t want more. It’s too much stress for a concert, and even if they tried to do something right: not everyone has a chance.”
