Maison Prosper Maufoux was rewarded during the International Wine Challenge 2026 thanks to its Pommard 1er Cru “Les Chaponnières” 2024. The wine was named best red wine of France, best red wine of Burgundy and best wine of the Pommard appellation as part of this international competition.

Recognition for the development of red wines

Founded in 1860 in Santenay, Maison Prosper Maufoux was taken over in 2010 by the Piffaut family. Since 2015, she has been developing her estate at Château de Saint-Aubin, with an activity focused in particular on the great white wines of the Côte de Beaune.

In parallel with this positioning, the house continued to develop its range of red wines. The distinctions obtained in 2026 reward this evolution and the efforts made for its red wines.

Several awards for the Pommard 1er Cru 2024

The Pommard 1er Cru “Les Chaponnières” 2024 first obtained a gold medal with a score of 96 out of 100. Selected for the final phase of the Trophies, it then received three additional distinctions: the Pommard Trophy, the Red Burgundy Trophy and the French Red Trophy.

Maison Prosper Maufoux also obtained several awards with the Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Clos du Château 2023, rated 94 out of 100, the Santenay 1er Cru La Comme 2023, rated 93 out of 100, and the Mâcon-Villages 2024, with a rating of 91 out of 100.
