American culture comes to Béziers with a unique arena fair. Concerts, dance demonstrations, car exhibitions, markets… a dense program for three days.
“But America, America / I want to have it and I will have it”, sang Joe Dassin. The Biterrois will not need to pack their bags since America will come to them this weekend. From June 5 to 7, the Béziers arenas are organizing, for the first time, a fair dedicated to American culture – particularly in its Far West spirit.
Passionate people from across the Atlantic
Designed like a trade show, visitors will be able to slalom between the stands of the USA village, spread over 1 hectare, in search of cowboy boots, hats and other goods. “The traders are French people who are passionate about American culture and who share their enthusiasm.” rejoices Olivier Margé, director of the arenas. “While preparing for the event, I understood that the region has many lovers of this culture.”
The very dense program also includes pick-up and motorcycle exhibitions, activities for children, mechanical rodeo, live concerts and country dancing. All the groups and artisans are from the region, visitors will be able to listen to the groups Earplugs, Blacksheeps or Rockplay.
And cars!
“We are expecting between 10,000 and 15,000 people! We wanted to create a popular and festive event”, continued the director. To achieve this ambitious figure, the arenas have chosen an accessible price: entry is free for those under twelve years old and costs €5 for those under twelve years old.
The event is, in particular, organized by the association “automobile creation event” (ACE) which promises exhibitions of rare models. “There will be nine very exceptional vans from the 80s”rejoiced Frédéric Aino, president of the association. We will also dance at Country Fest Béziers
Clearly, banjos and acoustic guitars will resonate in Biterrois this weekend. In addition to the “L’Amérique aux arénes” event, the Sauclières stadium will be the scene of the Country Fest Béziers, on June 6 and 7.
The event, dedicated to country dance, offers concerts (The Backwest, the Motherfolker, Didier Beaumont…), dance demonstrations, initiations by Marie-Claude Gil or even open floor time. The event is organized by line dancing enthusiasts. All in a western atmosphere provided by stands, decoration, entertainment and food trucks.
