For the 46th edition of the La Roque-d’Anthéron International Piano Festival, its president Jean-Louis Blanc and the new steering committee chose Miramas and its La Colonne theater to host the preludes of the event.

On the program: Saturday June 6 at 7 p.m., outdoors, Trout by Schubert, then at 9:30 p.m., in the theater, The Bolero by Ravel and The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns (tariff de chaque concert : 22 €, réduit 11 €)

With these concerts outside the walls, the festival intends to extend “the dynamic of sharing and proximity with the public“and defend”an international festival where music is not only an art of excellence, but an act of transmission and encounter“, underlines Jean-Louis Blanc.

“Happy to open the festival”

For this Miramassian evening, pianists Théo Fouchenneret and Martin Jaspard, the Magenta string quartet, as well as Yann Dubost, Magali Mosnier, Nicolas Baldeyrou and Vassilena Serafimova will perform works that are light, joyful and full of surprises.

I was selected in 2024 and 2025 for the festival residencies, first in piano duo with Paul Lecocq, then in duo with cellist Thomas Prechal. Today I am happy to open the festival with people I admire“, confides Martin Jaspard, who won First Prize at the Johannes Brahms International Piano Competition in September 2024.

This young 21-year-old pianist, who wishes to become a composer and conductor, will also participate in a “discovery concert”, new for this 46th edition, intended to highlight promising young pianists, on Wednesday July 22 at 4 p.m. at the Marcel-Pagnol auditorium in La Roque-d’Anthéron.
