UNESCO promotes cultural and artistic education based on cultural diversity and human rights, which encourages critical thinking and creativity and fosters a sense of belonging and mutual understanding.

UNESCO Cultural and Artistic Education Week 2026 celebrates the power of this education and its multiple benefits. This year’s edition is placed under the theme “Cultural and artistic education for lasting peace”.

It is in this context that UNESCO has invited, through its Associated Schools Network, learners from around the world, aged 6 to 14, to create works of art on the theme “ “Art for peace.” This report presents some of the creations resulting from this initiative, highlighting the cultural context, personal expression and vision for the future of the different learners who participated.

This initiative is based on the principles of the UNESCO Framework for Cultural and Artistic Education, which aims, among other things, to promote education that transmits to learners the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes enabling them to use art as a constructive means of promoting social change by promoting freedom of expression and creation, active democratic participation, social responsibility and collaboration.Â
