Barry Keoghan, 33, is an Irish actor who has been in high demand lately. Despite his success on major projects like the series Peaky Blinders, he has been facing harassment on social media, a common experience for many celebrities. In a podcast on SiriusMX, Keoghan opened up about the hate he receives online due to his appearance, leading him to disconnect from society to cope.

Keoghan, who had a difficult childhood in Dublin, is finding it increasingly hard to endure the negative comments about him online. The relentless online harassment has become a serious issue for him, affecting his mental health. Despite this, Keoghan has a lot to be proud of, with numerous films to his name and an Oscar nomination in 2023 for his role in The Banshees of Inisherin. However, the actor is now avoiding public events and red carpets due to the criticism he faces.

His upcoming role in the Ringo Starr biopic, The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, directed by Sam Mendes, is highly anticipated. However, Keoghan is apprehensive about the attention it will bring. Recently, his personal life made headlines when he was accused of infidelity during his relationship with singer Sabrina Carpenter, which ended in December 2024. Carpenter referenced their breakup in her song “Manchild.”
