Katrina Patchett has not had an easy life! In her autobiography titled “Mon corps, mon combat,” published on February 11th by Fayard Editions, the dancer revealed her struggles like never before. She disclosed that she suffered from bulimia for a long time, an eating disorder that affected her life. “I started really making myself vomit at the age of 15,” she confessed to Purepeople. She continued to explain that it all started after facing criticism in the dance industry and challenges in her life. Eventually, it escalated, and she lost control, jeopardizing her life.
But bulimia was not the only challenge Katrina Patchett had to face. She also went through a painful breakup with Valentin D’Hoore. Their relationship lasted eight years, during which they got married on September 1st, 2017. However, the couple separated and divorced in 2020. In an interview with Purepeople, the Australian dancer opened up about this difficult phase in her life, emphasizing that the decision to separate was not due to lack of love but because they reached a point where they couldn’t stand each other anymore, yet still cared. This ordeal is now behind her as she has found love again, just like Valentin D’Hoore, who became a father with model Karen Joigny.
In an exclusive interview with Voici, Katrina Patchett shared the crucial role her former mother-in-law played in helping her overcome bulimia. She recalled a moment when she overate and her mother-in-law intervened, making her realize the harm she was causing herself and others. This realization prompted her to make a change. Her former mother-in-law supported her whenever she reached out for help, and Katrina credits her for her recovery, saying she wouldn’t be sharing this story without her. Ultimately, the story has a happy ending!
