Olympe explains why he spent years away from the stage
The latest album from Olympe, “Press Play,” dates back four years. The thirty-year-old has been relatively quiet in recent years, and he did not hesitate to unveil the reason behind his sudden distance from the music scene. “I worked with someone who promised me the world, who said they believed in me. Then I discovered another reality,” he wrote in a story posted on his Instagram account on Monday, March 23. Regarding this person whose identity he does not reveal, they made him understand that he was no longer wanted on television: “That I had to hide behind a piano, that I was ‘too fat,’ and that I would be better off finding a job as a waiter.” While he did not understand the reason behind these actions, the singer eventually discovered that his agent and associate preferred to focus on another artist whom he then considered as his little sister.
Olympe: here’s why the singer who shined on “The Voice” decided to break his silence
The singer, who is now a father to a little girl, went even further in his revelations: “They went as far as giving a fake number to programmers, so that opportunities could never reach me. They told false things about me to people in the industry.” Consequently, Olympe was “excluded, put aside” while other artists “were pushed ahead.” According to the former “The Voice” participant, the actions of his former agent continue to impact his career. If he chose to speak out, it is primarily “because this type of behavior still exists. And it can break trajectories.” But one thing is certain: despite these numerous setbacks, Olympe will never stop singing.
