The conflict between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie escalates

Ten years after their acrimonious separation and the infamous private jet episode, the war between Brad Pitt and Angelina still shows no signs of tiring. While yet another child of the couple in turn abandons his father’s name, several insiders spoke out in the English-speaking press.

They say that time heals all wounds. Some of the most famous ex-lovers in pop culture can hardly say the same. As they celebrate ten years of their separation this year, Brad and Angelina, who entered celebrity history with a capital H like “Brangelina,” continue their attacks through symbolic gestures and punchlines in the press.

Another child gives up his name

Latest example later than this Thursday, reported in the columns of TMZ: according to the tabloid, Maddox Jolie-Pitt is about to follow in the footsteps of several members of his siblings, by taking steps to legally abandon his father’s name, in favor of “Maddox Chivan Jolie”. On a professional level, it has been some time since Angelina’s adopted son, 24, made the change.

Others had already taken the plunge: Shiloh, 20, changed her name legally, Zahara, 21, dropped it informally, and Vivienne, 17, reduced her name to Jolie, without Pitt, when she recently starred in a musical at Broadway.

It now seems that all of the six children shared by the famous duo of actors have distanced themselves from their father. And to make matters worse for this complex family situation, in mid-May, sources reported to TMZ that the actor would not have contacted his daughter, Zahara, on the occasion of her graduation, nor even tried to obtain a ticket to attend the ceremony.

Suffice to say that Brad’s camp was quick to counterattack.

Conflicting sources

Several anonymous relatives, however, were quick to rush to Brad Pitt’s aid to dispel the version according to which he was an absent father at best, and an indifferent father at worst.

“When we make it clear to him that we are keeping him away from the children, a reasonable person cannot complain that he is not close to them,” said one of them in the Daily Mail, faced with the controversy of the graduation ceremony.

According to the insider, Brad is not the only one who has tried to maintain ties with his offspring: his extended family, including his parents and the children’s cousins, have tried to do the same. Without much success, obviously.

Family divisions are such that Brad Pitt’s parents have paid the price. Before she died last year at the age of 85, her mother, Jane Etta Pitt, had not been in contact with her grandchildren for about nine years. “The most heartbreaking thing is that Angelina kept the children away from her parents, from their own grandparents,” accuses a source.

According to yet another informant, Brad Pitt only strives to respect the limits that have been set for him. “His loved ones, especially his friends and family, do not judge him in this ordeal, because they know that he is sincerely doing his best in incredibly difficult circumstances,” confides the individual.

In this endless ping-pong game started a decade ago, those close to Angelina Jolie took their turn in the Daily Mail. “Brad continues to victimize himself. His conflictual relationship with his children is the direct consequence of the way he treated them,” one of them replies.

As a reminder, the couple, whose relationship spanned from 2003 to 2016, separated following the private flight incident this year. During this trip, a violent altercation took place between the actor, his ex-wife and their children, leading to an interminable legal battle.

If Brad Pitt has always denied the accusations of domestic violence, he admitted his faults in the way the situation escalated. “His behavior was not criminal, but he took responsibility for his actions,” says the first source of the Daily Mail. “He got his act together.â€

Suffice to say that, for the moment, there is nothing to say that this will ever happen. Extremely close to her children, Angelina Jolie has completely mastered the story for years. “They are her whole world and she convinced them that Brad is not a good person,” concludes a third source. While waiting to reconnect one day, who knows, with his descendants, Brad Pitt can at least rejoice in being happily married. The actor is still in perfect love with Ines de Ramon, the Genevan whose life he has shared since 2022.
