Trailer for Koh Lanta
In this new episode of Koh Lanta, with the red team, Ulrich initiates a new clash and his comments about women provoke numerous reactions among the viewers.
On the red side, the tension does not ease in “Koh-Lanta: Les Reliques du Destin”. Challenge after challenge, the defeats accumulate and the nerves start to fray. In the episode aired on Tuesday, March 24 on TF1, a new confrontation erupts between the two teams with Ulrich once again at the center.
It all starts with the comfort challenge, a game in which teams compete to improve their living conditions by winning rewards like food or supplies. Faced with determined yellows, the reds once again succumb, and back at camp, the realization is bitter. Daniel, a member of the red team, tries to articulate the team’s difficulties, mentioning a deficit in collective power. “Maybe as a group, they have more strength than us,” he says. But the fiery Ulrich doesn’t let it slide.
“They can hide behind excuses if they want… The truth is, it’s in the head,” he retorts, cutting Daniel’s analysis short. The tone is harsh and the remark doesn’t sit well.
Tensions quickly rise as other contestants look on. Daniel, with irony, points out his opponent’s blunt honesty: “Ulrich, he also has a really strong voice.” While some try to calm the situation, others show signs of annoyance at these recurring conflicts.
A sequence that stirs the viewers
But it’s a bit later, during the food distribution, that the atmosphere truly shifts. Ulrich then makes comments about the portion distribution between men and women, implying that men should eat more. This stance is met with discomfort and triggers unease among a portion of the viewers.
Many viewers on X criticize the remarks as problematic. “In 28 seasons of Koh Lanta, this is the first time someone has said that women should eat less than men. It’s unbelievable,” writes one internet user. “Ulrich is so misogynistic… Never seen such contempt towards women on Koh Lanta,” reacts another.
Others more broadly criticize his attitude since the beginning of the adventure. “The machos in Koh Lanta this season are not acceptable,” can be read, or “It’s getting out of hand… Unprecedented on Koh Lanta.”
For several episodes, Ulrich has emerged as one of the most explosive personalities of the season. His outspoken opinions regularly lead to tensions on the camp.
In this episode, several members of his team show their frustration. Caroline is clearly irritated by these remarks, while others prefer to avoid escalating the situation.
