Yoan Louis, a 34-year-old hairdresser from Toulouse, has been setting social media on fire since May 27. His striking resemblance to the actor Pierre Niney earned him a notoriety that was as sudden as it was unexpected. Our colleagues from La Dépêche du Midi met this hairdressing enthusiast. Between tasty anecdotes and professional requests, he recounts a daily life turned upside down by this involuntary celebrity.
“I get stopped in the street all the time.”
It all started last year with a simple TikTok video. Yoan recounted a misadventure in a clothing store, but Internet users only remembered one thing: his face. “People went a little crazy in relation to the resemblance to Pierre Niney rather than in relation to the content of the video,” he explains. The confusion sometimes goes very far. Clients enter his salon convinced that they are watching a film shoot. On Instagram, some think they are seeing the real actor or a creation of artificial intelligence. “Obviously, particularly in terms of voice, there were similarities,” the hairdresser explains with amusement.
This resemblance now inspires games with his community. Internet users compete in creativity to come up with nicknames for him. “There was the Count of Monte Ciseau, Pi-Hair Niney, or Pierre nin-hair too,” he lists with a smile. These references to the actor’s cinematic successes, notably The Count of Monte Cristo, amuse him a lot. “Now I have fun challenging people and asking them to do things a little more original,” he confides. But this notoriety has its downside. “As soon as I go out in the evening or go for brunch, I am constantly stopped in the street,” admits Yoan, who has had to adapt to this new reality.
Pierre Niney never responded to his messages
The hairdresser tried to contact the actor via Instagram. Without success. “I tried to contact him once or twice, but I never heard back,” he admits. His imaginary message for Pierre Niney? “I would like to say to him: ‘sorry for all the notifications’.” Yoan remains lucid about his situation. He refuses to fall into caricature and prefers to chart his own course. “I don’t want to live a life that isn’t mine, so I avoid venturing too far into that area,” he says wisely. Professional offers keep coming, however. Advertisements, season 13 of Secret Story, even Ninja Warrior: Yoan declined everything. His heart remains in his salon, with his clients. “I like contact with people, bringing them something positive, offering them a place where they feel good,” explains this passionate person trained in Paris. However, certain opportunities interest him. “If the visibility can lead to projects linked to my activity professional, there I will be really very happy. Give me a makeover, podcasts related to hairdressing!”, he concludes with optimism. A real star seed who intends to stay true to herself.
