Vietnam boosts foreign relations and human resources quality
Through two projects aimed at strengthening foreign relations and developing high-quality human resources, Bui Quoc Thai, director of An Giang province’s tourism department, spoke at a meeting.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Tourism presented and approved the project to promote foreign relations activities in An Giang province for the period 2026-2030, with a vision towards 2035; the Ministry of Interior presented and approved the project for high-quality human resources development to meet the socio-economic development requirements in the new context.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, the project to promote foreign relations activities in An Giang province for the period 2026-2030 with a vision towards 2035 is an important and urgent step in the country’s increasingly deep integration with the international community.
The project aims to promote unified foreign policy work, ensure the legal and policy framework for foreign policy activities, enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, synchronization, comprehensiveness, and impact of foreign policy and international integration activities, maximize international resources for the province’s socio-economic development, and improve the quality of human resources for foreign policy service.
According to the Interior Ministry, the project for high-quality human resources development to meet the socio-economic development requirements in the new context aims to comprehensively assess the current state and gaps in human resources in the public and private sectors, compare them to the demand for high-quality human resources in both sectors, and forecast the human resources needs for the period 2026-2030. Based on this, it will propose training and development programs and policies to meet the socio-economic development requirements of the province in this new period.
Strategically, by 2030, the objective is for 100% of senior public officials to possess digital skills and master modern governance standards. The social sector aims for a training rate of 79% for its workforce.
In conclusion, Nguyen Thanh Phong, member of the Party provincial committee and permanent vice chairman of An Giang province’s People’s Committee, emphasized the importance of the two projects in implementing the Action Program related to the Party’s provincial congress resolution and the People’s Committee provincial congress resolution. He called for the timely finalization of the projects based on ministry and agency feedback to submit them for review and decision by the Party provincial committee for implementation.
Additionally, project development requirements must be rigorously reviewed to ensure legal compliance and alignment with provincial planning and policies. In developing the human resources development project, it is essential to consider the needs of key economic sectors closely linked to digital transformation and ecological transition, and to implement policies to attract talent and train highly qualified human resources to meet the province’s development needs.
