The Vivre à Belaye association offers its monthly show on Saturday May 30, at 8:30 p.m. in the village hall. On the program, Cadijo, a singer-songwriter who keeps his soul attached to the blues, but without distorting his culture as a Gascon born on the banks of the Garonne. For him Georges Brassens, Nougaro, BB King and Robert Johnson speak the same language, skillfully linked by his harmonica phrases.
He combines the energy of gypsy swing and blues with the poetry of his mother tongue. Between caravan trips, the Mississippi and the Canal du Midi, he creates music without borders, with quality lyrics simply expressed in the language of blues, real blues. His harmonica, both soft and powerful, connects these worlds with perfect harmony.
Winner of the Hohner trophy and several writing prizes, Cadijo has made his harmonicas and his songs resonate for thirty years from Amsterdam to Madrid, from Lorient to Kinshasa via Italy, with sometimes a detour via Morocco, Guadeloupe, Quebec, Mexico, Bolivia and Arizona.
