The Brazilian Football Federation announced on Monday the withdrawals of Alex Sandro and Gabriel for the matches against France and Croatia on March 27 and 31. The first will be replaced, not the second.
After goalkeeper Alisson, the Brazilian selection mourns two new players withdrawing from the matches against France and Croatia on March 27 and 31: the defenders Alex Sandro and Gabriel, announced Monday by the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF).
Alex Sandro, from Flamengo, injured a muscle behind his thigh on Sunday in the championship against Corinthians, his club announced. To replace the left-back, the Italian coach of Seleção Carlo Ancelotti has called up Kaiki, who plays in the same position at Cruzeiro.
Gabriel not replaced:
Arsenal’s central defender Gabriel injured his right knee during the lost League Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday. Medical examinations “confirmed” that the player “is not fit to play” in these matches, specified the CBF, which will not call upon any player to replace him.
Alisson, Liverpool’s goalkeeper, suffering from a muscle strain, had already withdrawn on Friday, replaced on the list by Hugo Souza, from Corinthians. These friendly matches of the Brazilians in the United States are part of their preparation for the 2026 World Cup (June 11-July 19 in North America), where they are in group C with Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland.
