This year 89,589 students chose History-Geography as a specialty in Terminale, it is still the fourth most chosen subject after Mathematics, SES, Physics Chemistry and SVT.
Here are the two subjects of the HGGSP specialty test which took place on Wednesday May 20 (day 1) and Thursday May 21, 2026 (day 2) for all candidates educated in North America. For mainland France and overseas, these 2026 baccalaureate specialty exams will take place on June 16 and 17.
As a reminder, like all other specialist subjects, the HGGSP coefficient is 16 (and 8 for philosophy, or 10 for the grand oral…). A good way to revise for candidates whose challenge is to finish with their baccalaureate and why not a mention?
